Stepping out of a comfort zone.
It is near impossible to go through this world ... without having labels ... it is supposed to help us "think" we understand one another and what we go through, though quite often it has an opposite effect.
I have been labeled with Paranoid Schizophrenia. I don't always believe the label but when the "manic/elevated" or "dark/paranoia" times come it is easy to see that there is something here that is gone through that not everyone in the world has the experience of. In many ways I liken the experience in the body as one that is on a perpetual pyschedellic. If you have ever had the gift of ingesting one then you are probably aware that there are things that are possible on a psychedellic that are not usually possible without one. However, if you have been diagnosed with a mental illness more than likely you know that things happen all the time that are unusual ... are not within the "normal" framework of the current societial beliefs in what is possible. However, when interacting with the "norm" of society ... you often quickly discover that your experience of it doesn't quite match up or even come close to others. The thing is ... we are seemingly social creatures and so there is an impetus to reach out into the world and interact with it ... yet often when one does it is discovered that things can get pretty messy. You might find people quickly become aggitated or angered or at worst call the police who are usually not trained or prepared for people that aren't experiencing realty such as they are. Some people may become intent on fixing you, though you have probably spent a lifetime discovering the futility of that process. People often do not understand what is gone through or how you are experiencing reality and usually what people don't understand or experience for themselves causes fear or concern or again the attempt to fix whatever it is that is not understandable or experienced.
All this to say that if you are feeling as if you don't fit in or have been labeled in such a way that the only way you "think" you can fit in is by taking some kind of pill or attempting to conform or control behavior ... then you probably will resonate with what you find on these pages. I have found that the use of the Internet allows for a kind of socialization that meeting in person does not often allow for.

Note: It has not been easy to put this site up and keep it up. If you are a writer or have mental concerns and/or challenges yourself, you know that it can create a great deal of fear to step out of one's comfort zone and share experiences, stories or truths that you have either hidden, discovered, created or believed about yourself and/or others. Maybe it has been used against you in the past or you have used what someone else has shared against them and have concerns of the same happening to you. This site has already been taken down two times due to fear of how it will be perceived and each time it goes back up (including right now) all the fear and concern again arises ... however, it's being sat with this time. As myTeacher frequently has stated:
"This too shall pass."
